Announcement No.2 on 8^th Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Expo 2020 & “Rising SciTech Star” International Invitational

From July 24 to 27, 2020, the 8^th Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Expo & “Rising SciTech Star” International Invitational (hereinafter referred to as the Youth SciTech Expo) is scheduled to take place in Shanghai. At present, preparations are undergoing in an orderly manner. Following the Announcement No.1, this Announcement No.2 will offer a detailed introduction to the Expo and its regulations. I. Major Events

Exhibitions: The Exhibition on Youth SciTech Innovation Works and the Exhibition on SciTech Innovation Education Resources will be organized, coupled with a dozen of featured showcase areas, to present the achievements of scientific and technological innovation education and sci-tech innovation to young people at home and abroad, raising their awareness of innovation, inspiring them to create, and cultivate their scientific literacy.

Contest: The “Rising SciTech Star” International Invitational will be held, where participating students are required to work in teams to create engineering & intelligent creative design works with colorful imagination and creative thinking. It is designed to develop participants’ teamwork, stimulate their interest in scientific research, and cultivate their inquisitive mind, paving way for future scientific and technological innovation.

Summit: Summits engaging principals from well-known domestic and foreign schools and sci-tech teachers will be opened, where they gather together to exchange and share new ideas and methods for science and technology innovation education, explore future developments in innovation education, and come up with more feasible ideas for youth science education, empowering Shanghai to build itself into a science and technology innovation center with global influence as soon as possible.

Exchange: Chinese and Shanghai traditional culture experience and exchange activities will be arranged for participants to learn about the essence and features of Chinese and Shanghai local culture, experience the integration and innovation of technology and culture, inherit and spread outstanding traditional Chinese culture, and enhance the cultural awareness and self-confidence of young students.
