In the process of deepening the comprehensive reform of education, the city faces the world and the future by promoting the high-quality development of education. Science and technology innovation education focuses on stimulating students' curiosity and imagination, as well as igniting students' scientific interest while continuously improving the scientific qualities and innovation abilities of the young through the cultivation of innovative thinking and practical abilities in using scientific and technological innovation to set up a fulcrum for the personalized growth of the young.

The 9th Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Expo 2022 (Online) and "Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow" Invitational Tournament will be held in this beautiful city in August 2022 when students and teachers from all over the world will focus on the theme of "Science · Innovation · Dream" by imagining the future of human life and technological development, and share their enjoyment of the science and technology event! This year's Youth SciTech Expo will be committed to creating an interactive platform for science and technology without borders, building a stage for young science and technology enthusiasts from all over the world for exploration, learning, cooperation and exchange in addition to building a bridge for science and technology educators and managers to exchange and learn from their advanced experience in popular science activities.

 Your achievements will be seen and your voice will be heard across the world. Preparations for the Youth SciTech Expo are being carried out in an orderly manner and online registration will be officially launched in June for young students, school principals or work units to apply. We look forward to seeing you online!

III. Activity Contents

This year's Youth SciTech Expo will be held online, with activities that include such three parts as Online Exhibitions, Online Summits and Invitational Tournament.

The Online Exhibition will be presented in the form of a virtual pavilion, with exhibition halls of Youth SciTech Innovation Achievement Exhibition and SciTech Innovation Education Resources Exhibition that display the achievements of domestic and foreign youth science and technology innovation education and of scientific and technological innovation. Young people and exhibitors can register and submit achievements and exhibit materials online and, when selected for the exhibition, will receive an invitation letter and obtain an online independent booth to display and publicize their innovative achievements.

Carried out online by means of live webcasting, the Online Summits of well-known school principals at home and abroad will be held, to enable them to connect online to exchange and share new ideas and methods of scientific and technological innovation education, and discuss the new development of innovation education in the future. Principals register online to submit the outlines of their speeches and related materials. Once selected to speak at the summits after the review, they will receive an invitation letter, and the organizing committee will set up a special page to promote them online.

The Invitational Tournament will encourage and welcome more Chinese and foreign young people to participate in the practice of scientific and technological innovation via the Cloud Challenge through the Interactive Activities and "Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow" Invitational Tournament.

Once selected for the exhibition through the review process, young people and exhibitors will receive an invitation letter and obtain an independent online booth to display and publicize their innovative achievements. The principals selected to speak at the summit will receive an invitation letter, too, and the organizing committee will set up a special page to promote them online.

This year's Youth SciTech Expo is expected to be attended by the representatives of the teachers and the students from all over the world, attracting millions of students and parents to visit it.

VI. Exhibitors

i. Youth SciTech Innovation Achievement Exhibition

The Youth SciTech Expo invites currently-enrolled secondary school students of countries/regions throughout the world to participate in the Youth SciTech Innovation Achievement Exhibition. Exhibitors of this exhibition will be currently-enrolled full-time secondary school students born between 2004 and 2009, who are to apply for participation in the exhibition as a school, an individual student or a team (of not more than 3 students) and submit their scitech innovation accomplishments (works or exploration achievements) for display and exchange.

ii. SciTech Innovation Education Resources Exhibition

The participants in SciTech Innovation Education Resources Exhibition are Shanghai Youth Scientific Innovation Practice Station, Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Education Base, the education bureaus of all districts of Shanghai, Hi-tech enterprises and youth innovation education firms and institutions, which are to apply for participation in the exhibition on the basis of their achievements and quests in the field of educational resources, philosophies and approaches in respect of youth scientific and technological innovation.

iii. Online Summits

The online summits sincerely invite well-known school principals to discuss the theme of Future-oriented Science and Technology Education, share the new ideas and methods of science and technology innovation education, and explore the new development of innovation education in the future.

iv. The Invitational Tournament

The Youth SciTech Expo extends its invitation to primary and secondary school students from all over the world to participate in interactive activities and also to full-time secondary school students to participate in the "Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow" Invitational Tournament, encouraging and welcoming more young people from China and abroad to participate in science and technology innovation through the Cloud Challenge.
